Background
With Shepard’s History, our goal was to bring new life to a legacy product while maintaining its trusted foundation. We introduced interactive timelines and chart visualizations that allowed users to see case histories unfold dynamically, providing a richer, more intuitive understanding of relationships and outcomes. By diversifying how users could view and explore information—beyond traditional lists or tables—we made it easier for them to identify key moments and insights at a glance, creating a more engaging and efficient research experience
Approach
To unify the experience, we adopted a chiclet and card-based design system—a modular approach that made information instantly recognizable and adaptable across different display types. These components helped simplify complex data, ensuring users could quickly interpret insights whether viewing results in a list, timeline, or chart format. The use of consistent visual cues created a cohesive, intuitive experience that felt both modern and familiar.
